Job summary We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Clinical Psychologist/Senior Mental Health Practitioner to cover for a maternity period (12 months fixed term) working within Salford's innovative edge of care service known as Route 29. Route 29 aim is to keep families together and to work within an outreach framework to support families where there is risk of family breakdown. The Route29 team work from a dedicated hub, which offers a short term residential unit as well as an outreach model of service delivery. Their approach embraces a closer working relationship with adolescents - a 'working with' rather than a 'doing to' approach. Offering a truly multi agency approach the service brings together education, health and social care to ensure the holistic needs of young people are met. We are hoping to expand the Mental Health provision to the team in future months with the potential addition of a Bend 7 MHP/Clinical Psychologist permanent post, which will be supervised by the 8a clinician. Main duties of the job The postholder will be one part of a specialist team of clinicians offering input to the Route 29 service. The specialist team comprises Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Nurses and Police. The specialist team offer trauma, adversity and attachment-based formulation plus direct clinical work and clinical supervision to other members of the team. The team emphasis is on building therapeutic relationships with young people, their families and networks which are much wider than traditional clinic-based CAMHS working relationships. Liaison and joint working with other core CAMHS colleagues and colleagues from Salford's Cared for Children's service (STARLAC) is an essential and well valued part of the role.
