High Voltage Electrical Engineer - Permanent
Location: Shotton, Cheshire (CH5)
Salary: £48,867 - £64,000 per annum
Bonus: Performance-based quarterly bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - Day Shift
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join a leading industrial site in Shotton. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term career prospects and excellent benefits. The role will focus on the maintenance, development, and compliance of high voltage electrical infrastructure within a demanding operational environment.
This position would suit a self-motivated engineer with strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and enhancement of high voltage (HV) electrical systems across the site.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory and internal health & safety regulations.
* Provide technical leadership and support for projects involving HV infrastructure.
* Plan and coordinate routine and preventative maintenance activities.
* Diagnose and resolve HV electrical faults efficiently to reduce downtime.
* Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external contractors.
* Identify opportunities for system improvements in reliability, performance, and safety.
Essential Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
* Proven experience in the maintenance and operation of high voltage electrical systems, ideally within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relating to HV systems.
* Demonstrated ability in fault-finding, problem-solving, and risk management.
* Capable of working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
Familiarity with continuous improvement practices (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
Knowledge of industry standards related to HV system management.
