Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Surgical Bias) – Norfolk Location: Norfolk/Suffolk Coast (On-site) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Flexible Working Available) Salary: Up to £70,000 (DOE) The Opportunity A well-established RCVS-registered small animal hospital and surgery is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to work within a first opinion practice that offers a diverse caseload, advanced facilities, and strong clinical support. The practice is particularly suited to candidates who are passionate about developing their surgical skills, with structured support available for those wishing to pursue a certificate-level qualification. About the Practice The practice operates across two well-equipped sites located on the picturesque Norfolk/Suffolk coast, within the Norfolk Broads. The area offers an excellent work-life balance, combining coastal living with accessible transport links to London. This is a 24-hour care facility, supported by an on-site out-of-hours provider, ensuring continuous patient care. The practice also provides a radioactive iodine referral service, accepting cases from across the region. Facilities & Equipment The hospital is exceptionally well-equipped, enabling a high standard of clinical care: Dedicated radioactive iodine unit Four fully equipped operating theatres Full orthopaedic suite (including TPLO & TTA capabilities) Laparoscopic (lap spay) equipment Ultrasound and echocardiography available at both sites Advanced diagnostics including EPOC, lactate testing, and blood/plasma storage Video-assisted endoscopy and bronchoscopy Digital radiography (DR X-ray system) Toxicology support equipment (Elixir kit) Separate dog and cat wards Large, fully equipped isolation facilities Comprehensive in-house laboratory (including endocrine testing) Visiting cardiology specialist support The Role The successful candidate will: Manage a varied small animal caseload with a strong surgical component Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures Work collaboratively with a team of experienced clinicians Contribute to high standards of patient care and clinical excellence The role offers a balanced mix of consulting and operating, including two dedicated surgical days per week.
