Overview
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum
Responsibilities
* Design bespoke machinery and special purpose equipment from concept through to manufacture.
* Produce 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
* Design components and assemblies incorporating fabrication, sheet metal, and CNC machined parts.
* Work closely with manufacturing, assembly, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
* Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and design improvements.
* Manage engineering documentation and design changes.
Skills & Experience
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
* Experience designing bespoke machinery or SPM equipment.
* Good understanding of fabrication, sheet metal design, and CNC machining processes.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
