Teaching Personnel are recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in our partner secondary schools in the Old Trafford area from September 2026. This is the perfect opportunity for graduates who are considering a future in teaching and want valuable school experience before applying for teacher training.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support students aged 11–16 in lessons across a range of subjects
* Work 1:1 or with small groups to boost progress
* Assist teachers with behaviour management and classroom routines
* Provide academic support to students who need additional guidance
* Gain first-hand experience working alongside qualified teachers and department leads
This role is ideal preparation for a PGCE, SCITT, or School-Based Teacher Training route.
What We’re Looking For
* A recent graduate (any subject considered)
* Aspiring teachers or those planning to start a PGCE in the future
* Confident, enthusiastic, and eager to work with young people
* Experience working with children/teenagers (tutoring, coaching, mentoring) is beneficial but not essential
* Reliable, proactive, and keen to learn
