Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical bias)
45 hours per week and as necessary to fulfil the scope of responsibilities within the post, this will involve some weekend and evening work - flexibility within this role is required
The Maintenance Engineer will have a proactive approach. The function of the department is to support the day-to-day operations through both planned and unplanned maintenance of plant and machinery with an aim to minimise downtime and to maximise daily productivity.
Key Responsibilities Include: -
· Monitor and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic breakdowns
· Ensure all machines are assessed and liaise daily with operators as to any issues or faults with their specific machines
· Undertake regular stock checks and order replacements as and when required
· Ensure all stock remains at an acceptable level, and that specific key stock items are constantly available to ensure the provision of a timely and pro-active maintenance service
· Undertake daily and weekly general routine maintenance
· Undertake regular and consistent inspections of all equipment to include cranes, access steps, compressors etc. and deal with any maintenance issues as they arise
· Supervise, train and mentor any departmental apprentices
· Oversee and manage the timely and effective installation of all new machinery
· Ensure maintenance disruption is kept to a minimum for all standard maintenance schedules
· Ensure all relevant Managers are notified and kept updated in the event of a machine failure
· Carry out regular building and factory inspections to identify and address any maintenance and facility issues
· Regularly inspect and review all machines to establish any requirement for upgrade
· Coordinating work performed by sub-contractors
· Maintain effective working relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers.
Person Specification
Essential
· Industry recognised level 3 qualification in mechanical discipline or maintenance engineering
· Welding experience
· Plant level experience with proven man management experience
· Full driving licence
· IOSH (Managing Safely) qualification (or equivalent)
· Knowledge and experience of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic engineering
· Experience of working on overhead cranes would be advantageous
· Effective verbal, presentation, written and listening communications skills
· Ability to work under pressure to achieve company targets
· Effective time management skills

· Diligent attention to detail

· IPAF 3A & 3B MEWP qualification
