Teaching Assistant - SEN

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Chorley, focusing on supporting an SEN class. This long-term role starts in September 2025 and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the educational journey of children with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Assist in the delivery of daily lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students under the guidance of the class teacher.
* Provide one-on-one support to students, ensuring they engage effectively in activities and achieve their educational goals.
* Implement personalised learning plans and contribute to the assessment of students' progress.
* Facilitate social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and support.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the students' education and welfare.
* Manage any necessary classroom resources and setup required to support specific educational activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant within an SEN setting.
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students and effective strategies to aid their learning and development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to fostering a supportive learning environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
