We have an exciting opportunity to join our specialist CAMHS Eating Disorder Service in Somerset, where you can play a vital role in transforming lives.</p><p>Our dedicated countywide team provides expert assessment and treatment for young people diagnosed with or presenting with an eating disorder. This includes offering support on paediatric wards and helping those facing acute physical challenges. We work closely with young people, their families, and support networks, delivering personalised care through evidence-based interventions, psychoeducation, and tailored advice.</p><p><b>What makes our service unique:</b></p><ul><li>A developing and innovative service -- CAMHS Eating Disorders is continually evolving, with exciting new developments including two new Intensive Treatment Houses opening soon.</li><li>Countywide role -- offering variety, flexibility, and the chance to make a difference across Somerset.</li><li>A large and supportive multidisciplinary team who are committed to investing in staff development to ensure we deliver the highest levels of care to children and young people.</li><li>A culture of learning, reflection and professional progression, where your growth is valued and supported.</li><li>Primarily 9--5pm community-based work, with some flexibility required to support families receiving the intensive treatment package.</li></ul><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>In this role, you will be part of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, formulation, and treatment in both clinic settings and service users homes. You will also collaborate with other professionals to ensure holistic care, advocating for psychological approaches within the service.</p><p>As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development of our specialist ED pathway, working closely with local community teams, paediatric services, and inpatient psychiatric wards. We offer:</p><ul><li><b>Flexible working options</b> to help you balance work and life</li><li><b>NHS pension scheme</b> for long-term financial security</li><li><b>Generous annual leave allowance</b> to recharge and relax</li><li>A strong focus on <b>career development</b> to help you grow and achieve your potential</li></ul><p>Additionally, youll gain access to our <b>Blue Light Card</b>, unlocking exclusive discounts on shopping, dining, and leisure activities, as well as NHS-specific perks to support you both inside and outside of work.</p><p>We are proud to foster a <b>diverse, skilled, and inclusive workforce</b>, and we encourage applications from all backgrounds.</p><p><b>Why Somerset?</b> Somerset offers the perfect blend of <b>idyllic countryside, outstanding areas of natural beauty</b>, and <b>breathtaking coastlines</b>, with vibrant cities like <b>Bristol</b>, <b>Bath</b>, and <b>Exeter </b>just a short drive away - and only two hours to <b>London</b>.</p><p>The region is home to excellent <b>educational facilities</b>, and with affordable housing compared to other parts of the country, its a great place to build both your career and your future.</p><p><b>Somerset truly has it all</b> - the peaceful countryside and cosmopolitan city life, with something for everyone to enjoy.</p><h3>Job responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Responsible for providing specialist systemic/psychological assessment, clinical formulation and a range of systemic/psychological interventions for children and young people with a suspected or diagnosed ED and their family/carers.</li><li>To offer specialist therapies as part of the multi disciplinary CAMHS team.</li><li>To provide specialist consultancy to the multi-disciplinary team and other professionals with regard to problem assessment, formulation, therapeutic interventions, the appropriateness of CBT, how when and why approaches may need to change and client management.</li><li>To contribute to the delivery of the ED treatment pathway including working from a clinic base and to offer interventions in familys homes and community setting and in-reach to wards, as required.</li><li>To offer family interventions and group treatment strategies as specified in the service treatment pathway.</li><li>To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Recognised professional qualification at degree or equivalent level in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social work</li><li>Registration with the appropriate professional body</li><li>Evidence of continuous post-qualifying professional development.</li><li>Post-qualifying training in therapeutic interventions</li><li>Have a Recognised qualification in assessing autism</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience of working with children and young people.</li><li>Experience of multi-agency working.</li><li>Experience and understanding of Safeguarding Children and other relevant legislation and policies</li></ul><h3>Additional Criteria</h3><ul><li>Knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders and Neurodevelopmental disorders in children and young people, and their impact on both the client group and their families/carers.</li><li>Knowledge of a wide range of evidence-based treatment/therapeutic interventions.</li><li>Knowledge and experience of risk assessment and risk management planning with high-risk young people.</li><li>Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of RCPA (previously ICPA)</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p></div>
