Mechanical Design Engineer - Electro-Mechanical Salary: £45,000–£50,000 Location: South Cambridgeshire An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative product development company. The company specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation, taking products from initial concept through to full-scale production. This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on cutting-edge R&D projects and contribute to the design of complex electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, with exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop products from concept through to production Design complex electro-mechanical systems 3D CAD design Build and test prototypes Work closely with a cross-functional R&D team across electronics, software, and systems Participate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA) Skills & Experience Required: Degree in relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) Previous experience in developing electro-mechanical systems is a must Strong 3D CAD design skills Proven experience developing products from concept through to manufacture Good understanding of materials, tolerances, manufacturing techniques Hands on workshop skills – using tools and prototyping If you’re looking to join a business that values creativity, quality and innovation, then apply with a copy of your CV.
