Summary

IBPS Draughting Ltd is a growing, sub-contract design drawing office located in Hereford. The Company specialises in producing 3D models of steel structures for all areas of the construction industry. We are looking for an apprentice to join our team as technical support in modelling/detailing.

Wage

£16,224 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

Assisting the design team with:

* Production of 3D structural models using the latest Trimble/Tekla Structures software.
* To provide accurate, detailed models/drawings for manufacturing and erecting steel structures
* Material scheduling
* Projects from design stage through to construction
* Work in close partnership with Architects/ Structural Engineers and contractors
* Using 3D and 2D CAD software
* Production of .IFC model conversions for use within BIM collaboration

* Identify, organise and use resources to complete tasks, considering cost, quality, safety, security and environmental impact.

Training schedule

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX):

Level 3 comprises of:

Duration approximately 40-45 months.

Years 1/2 is a combination of off the job training at HWGTA Training Centre as well as training on site with your employer. This includes 26-42 weeks within the training Centre plus 1 day per week in a classroom setting to cover practical and theory aspects and complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge

Years 3/4 based full time in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician qualification.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment.

Additional training for functional skills in English and maths will be undertaken if needed.


More training information

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

GCSE in:

* English (grade A*-C/ 4-9)
* Maths (grade A*-C/ 4-9)
