Lead Mechanical Rotating Engineer
Contract Type: Outside IR35
Working Location: Hybrid – approximately 3 days per month on site (Flintshire)
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams on live operational assets
* Drive reliability improvement and asset performance initiatives for both onshore and offshore facilities
* Plan and prioritise maintenance activities for rotating and static equipment
* Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement performance improvements
* Support minor modifications and upgrade projects (MOC)
* Collaborate with contractors and manage technical scope delivery
* Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulatory requirements
* Contribute to project activities including HAZOP, SIL reviews, and technical studies
* Act as technical authority for rotating and lifting equipment systems
* Support decommissioning and energy transition projects
Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
* Substantial experience within oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
* Proven background working with rotating equipment, power generation, or lifting systems
* Experience supporting live operational assets, onshore or offshore
* Strong understanding of maintenance, reliability, and risk-based methodologies
* Familiarity with UK and EU engineering standards and regulations
* Chartered or working towards chartered status (IMechE or equivalent)
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
Additional Information
* Hybrid / office-based role with regular site visits (onshore & offshore)
* Offshore certification (BOSIET / HUET) beneficial or willingness to obtain
