HGV Class 1 Day Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Day Driver to join our well-established client based in Garretts Green, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity, offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts:
* Monday to Friday, start times between 3am - 7am starts
Rates of pay:
* Basic: £16.00 per hour

Day-to-day duties:
As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Carrying out RDC or trunking work (curtain-side, no handball required)
* Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
* Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
* Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
* Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
* Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
* Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
* Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential skills:
To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
* A valid UK Category CE licence
* A minimum of twelve months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
* No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
* A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
* Good spoken and written English
* Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
* A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
* Effective communication skills
Desirable experience:
* Previous commercial driving experience
* Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training:
* Drivers will have a short assessment before any shifts
* Industry related training provided and ongoing support throughout
