Owen Daniels are recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Toolmaker / EDM Operator to join a well-established and growing precision engineering manufacturer.

The Role
* Operate and support EDM machining processes.
* Assist with the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of production tooling.
* Support tool trials, tooling improvements, and fault finding activities.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
* Assist with tool assembly, fitting, and inspection.
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
* Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and health & safety.
What Were Looking For
* Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, machining, or toolroom environment.
* Experience operating EDM machinery would be advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Good understanding of precision measurement techniques.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
* EDM (Wire or Spark Erosion)
* CNC Milling or Turning
* Toolroom Engineering
* Surface Grinding
* Tool Maintenance or Repair
* Press Tooling
* Apprenticeship or Engineering Qualification
