Who You Are As a Grounds Operative General, you will have an interest in maintaining public spaces such as parks, schools, and playing fields in Carmarthenshire. You are self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess the ability to direct the work of trainees and other employees. Being physically fit, a holder of a full UK driving licence, and willing to adapt to seasonal working hours is essential. What the Job Involves The role involves the general maintenance of allocated areas, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and sports area upkeep. You will be responsible for setting out and marking sports areas, maintaining both artificial and natural pitches, and performing cleaning tasks in public facilities. Your responsibilities also include operating machinery and equipment, applying pesticides appropriately, and ensuring all activities adhere to health and safety standards. Additionally, you will perform visual inspections of playground equipment and support various Environmental Department services.
