About Us:
At Steris AST, we are the trusted experts in neutral sterilization, offering radiation and gas technologies. We provide electron beam, gamma, X-ray, ethylene oxide, and vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization for products ranging from medical instruments to food items, ensuring safety and quality for end users.
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join at a skilled professional level and contribute to maintaining and enhancing our high standards of quality.
Working Pattern: 3 weeks rota
* Week 1 & 2: Monday to Friday 07:00-15:00
* Week 3: 15:00-23:00
On call rota:
* 1 in 4 Weekends
* 1 in 3 Night shift cover
What is involved
* Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, respond to plant breakdowns, manage PLC and SCADA systems, carry out PPM, support breakdowns, review and develop maintenance schedules, manage stock levels, oversee installation and maintenance of machinery, update risk assessments, and utilize CMMS systems.
* Behavioural: Be a team player, proactive, customer-focused, and support the 'One Team One Goal' philosophy.
* Facilities: Manage contractor programs, conduct audits, develop processes, and improve maintenance and facility management systems.
* Quality: Conduct calibration, operate to GMP standards, assist with defect investigations, and participate in maintenance reviews.
* Safety and Security: Follow safety practices, report incidents, ensure contractor compliance, handle radiation sources under supervision, and perform safety drills.
* Continuous improvement: Maintain 5S standards, support KAIZEN and Gemba walks, and identify opportunities for efficiency.
* Projects: Engage in sustainability and engineering enhancement projects.
Required Experience
Vocational/Technical qualifications such as High School Diploma, GED, HNC, or HND. Strong communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of continuous improvement programs and the medical industry are advantageous. Skills in lighting, electrical fault-finding, control panels, fire alarms, water treatment, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical and mechanical drawings, welding, and fabrication are desired.
