The Role
The Senior Data Protection & AI Governance Lawyer will:
* Manage data protection and privacy matters across UK and international offices.
* Advise on UK GDPR, PECR, and global privacy regulations to senior stakeholders.
* Draft and negotiate data processing agreements and privacy provisions in commercial contracts.
* Develop and maintain internal data protection policies and training programmes.
* Oversee the firm\'s AI governance framework, ensuring ethical AI use.
* Collaborate with various teams to ensure integrated privacy compliance.
* Monitor emerging AI legislation and assess its impact on operations.
The Candidate
The ideal Senior Data Protection & AI Governance Lawyer will have:
* Qualified solicitor status in England & Wales or equivalent jurisdiction.
* At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience focusing on data protection law.
* Experience in AI governance and emerging tech regulation is highly desirable.
* Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
* A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
