Patient Transport Liaison Officer – Frimley Park Hospital, Camberley
Join EMED Group as a Patient Transport Liaison Officer (PTLO) on a full‑time, permanent basis (08:00 – 20:00, 36‑hour week, six‑day rota covering Thursday through Saturday, Monday through Wednesday).
The PTLO is key to bridging the gap between hospitals and our operations team. You will be integrated within the flow room, involved in site and bed meetings, and act as the primary point of contact for escalations, patient queries, risk assessments, and bed management coordination with EMED managers.
Key Responsibilities
* Check and plan daily and future bookings within the Cleric controlling system, ensuring resourcing is correct and all subcontractors, taxi providers and volunteers are informed to achieve contractual targets.
* Maintain patient flow across all control areas through effective liaison with colleagues and hospital staff, promptly resolving urgent problems and responding to unplanned events.
* Attend meetings on an ad‑hoc basis and assist operational managers with day‑to‑day issues.
* Undertake general clerical duties including booking list checks, data input and completion of ad‑hoc forms and invoices.
* Maintain and enhance the performance and quality of patient service, fostering positive relationships with wards, outpatient units, discharge lounges and bed managers.
* Meet weekly with planning/control to forecast activity, identify peaks and troughs and ensure operational responsiveness.
* Deal with patient enquiries and questions as they arise and be familiar with EMED policies, processes and SOPs.

Qualifications & Competencies
* Committed to patient care
* Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting
* Thorough knowledge of non‑emergency patient transport services
* Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, explaining decisions clearly
* Ability to make decisions based on impact assessment
* Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills with key stakeholders to prioritise EMED services and support divisional growth
