An excellent Birmingham primary is recruiting an inspirational Year 5 Teacher to join Upper Key Stage 2 on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 5 Teacher will plan and deliver ambitious curriculum sequences, lead targeted booster programmes and support pupils’ transition into Year 6. The Year 5 Teacher will take part in pre-term planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026.
The role — Year 5 Teacher
The Year 5 Teacher will design progressive mathematics and English lessons as the Year 5 Teacher, deliver enquiry topics and practical science as the Year 5 Teacher, and lead small-group interventions as the Year 5 Teacher. The Year 5 Teacher will coordinate enrichment visits and produce clear assessment records to support transition to Year 6. The role includes termly data review meetings beginning after January 2026.
Year 5 Teacher Candidate profile
We are seeking a Year 5 Teacher with QTS, strong Upper KS2 experience and evidence of improving pupil outcomes. The Year 5 Teacher should be collaborative, reflective and ready to plan prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026. The ideal Year 5 Teacher has experience of running booster groups and engaging parents in learning conversations.
