We’re hiring a Senior IT Analyst with a strong security mindset, analytical judgement, and a passion for solving complex problems to join our IT Infrastructure & Security team at John Muir House, Haddington.
This team safeguards the Council’s digital estate—supporting over 20,000 users across 100+ sites, including schools. You will be involved in securing and developing our infrastructure, while also contributing to endpoint protection, cloud security, and compliance initiatives.
Experience with Vulnerability management, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and NCSC Cloud Security Principles is highly desirable. Familiarity with SD-WAN concepts, Firewall Management, and Zero Trust architecture will be a plus. Training will be provided where needed.

Please Note:
All home/hybrid workers must live in the UK. Where an application for home-working is supported, it will be subject to a satisfactory trial period. Employees will be expected to attend Council offices for the duration of induction, and be on site in East Lothian workplaces, as required. Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.
Job Details
To work as a member of the IT Infrastructure and Security team with a primary focus on the effective use of the Council’s enterprise networks, servers, storage, and cloud facilities to bring about Council Wide digital transformation.
The key areas of responsibility are:
• Work with colleagues to ensure all aspects of the Council’s IT infrastructure operate efficiently and effectively.
• Assist with the evaluation, selection and standardisation of new technologies
• Providing Level 2 IT Support.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to enable Council wide digital transformation.
The Jobholder will be a proactive and forward-thinking individual with experience of monitoring, evaluating, implementing and supporting enterprise wide IT infrastructure.
