TheGardens Surgeryis a high-achieving PMS practice servinga patient population of 6,300. Due to the upcoming retirement of one of ourlongstanding GPs, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Salaried GP for 3-4sessions per week. Sessions will include Wednesday mornings and afternoons(negotiable), as well as Friday mornings and afternoons. The position isanticipated to commence in January or February 2026.

Main duties of the job
The suitable candidate should feel comfortable workingindependently as well as alongside our multi-disciplinary medical team. Therole will include pro-rata involvement with the duty doctor triage rota.
We expect our team to always act within your professionalboundaries, providing appropriate care for patients from initial historytaking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. Youwill demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, includingassessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. Theideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinicaldecision-making process.
You will possess the necessary skills, knowledge andbehaviour by promoting and protecting the interests of service users andcarers, communicating appropriately and effectively, working within the limitsof your knowledge and skills, refer & delegate appropriately, respectconfidentiality, manage risk, report concerns about safety, be honest andtrustworthy and keep records of your work.

You will receive six weeks of annualleave (plus one week of study leave) pro rata, bank holidays pro rata, and NHS pension.
You will be supported by 2 Nurses, anHCA, ANP, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators,and a Mental Health Practitioner, as well as a small administrative team.

Job responsibilities
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers.
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signsof illness.
In consultation with patients and in line with currentNational and Local disease management protocols, developing care plans forhealth.
Providing relevant and appropriate health education.
Referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes toagreed standards.
Complying with QOF requirements.
Prescribing in accordance with the SEL prescribing formularyor generically whenever this is clinically appropriate.
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake allthe normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care.

* Full GMC registration
* MRCGP
