Commis Chef – Job Description We are seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join the kitchen brigade at a luxury country house hotel set within beautiful parkland surroundings in Berkshire. Key Responsibilities * Assist senior chefs in the preparation and presentation of dishes across multiple outlets (restaurant, lounge, private dining, weddings, and events). * Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning. * Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards. * Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in line with food hygiene regulations. * Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by senior chefs. * Support stock rotation and proper storage procedures (FIFO). * Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment. Requirements * A genuine passion for food and hospitality. * Culinary qualification (NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent) preferred. * Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential. * Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. * Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. * Strong teamwork and communication skills. * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event days.
