Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for a Finance Director on behalf of a growing, high‑performing professional services business based in Yorkshire. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for financial strategy, operational finance, internal controls and driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio.
The organisation is scaling quickly and requires an experienced, strategic Finance Director who can operate as a true business partner to the Group CFO, UK CEO and the wider SLT.
The Role
As Finance Director, you will lead the full financial agenda for the UK business, including:
1. Developing and executing the financial strategy
2. Leading budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning
3. Overseeing internal controls and financial governance
4. Driving financial performance analysis and insight for the Board
5. Leading both Finance and Procurement teams
6. Supporting commercial pricing strategy
7. Cash management, including client monies held in escrow
8. Ensuring robust compliance, accounting policies and risk management
9. Working cross‑functionally with commercial, sales and operations to support growth
10. Leading, developing and mentoring a high‑performing finance team
This is a broad, hands‑on and strategically important leadership role within a business undergoing positive change and investment.
The Ideal Candidate:
11. ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
12. Experienced at senior finance leadership level within a commercially focused environment
13. Strong across budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
14. Commercially minded, with experience supporting pricing and supplier negotiations
15. A proven leader who has developed and grown high‑performing finance teams
16. A confident communicator, able to influence at Board level
17. Highly proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel
18. Lives within a commutable distance of Halifax
