Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for a Finance Director on behalf of a growing, high‑performing professional services business based in Yorkshire. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for financial strategy, operational finance, internal controls and driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio.
The organisation is scaling quickly and requires an experienced, strategic Finance Director who can operate as a true business partner to the Group CFO, UK CEO and the wider SLT.
The Role
As Finance Director, you will lead the full financial agenda for the UK business, including:
* Developing and executing the financial strategy
* Leading budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning
* Overseeing internal controls and financial governance
* Driving financial performance analysis and insight for the Board
* Leading both Finance and Procurement teams
* Supporting commercial pricing strategy
* Cash management, including client monies held in escrow
* Ensuring robust compliance, accounting policies and risk management
* Working cross‑functionally with commercial, sales and operations to support growth
* Leading, developing and mentoring a high‑performing finance team
This is a broad, hands‑on and strategically important leadership role within a business undergoing positive change and investment.
The Ideal Candidate:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
* Experienced at senior finance leadership level within a commercially focused environment
* Strong across budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
* Commercially minded, with experience supporting pricing and supplier negotiations
* A proven leader who has developed and grown high‑performing finance teams
* A confident communicator, able to influence at Board level
* Highly proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel
* Lives within a commutable distance of Halifax
