Vacancy: Waking Nights Young Persons Support Worker Location: Bournemouth Salary / Pay Rate: £30,576 per annum (£14.00 per hour) Hours: 42 hours per week, 21:00 09:00 Rota: 2-weekly rolling rota, inclusive of weekends and Bank holidays Beaufort Support Services provide semi-independent housing solutions for young people in care aged 16 plus. The Young Persons Support Worker provides practical and emotional support to safeguard the young people, responding to challenging behaviours and encouraging their personal growth by developing their skills to be confident, independent young adults. Working as part of a team, we deliver round the clock support, 365 days per year. As a Waking Nights Young Persons Support Worker, lone working will apply. You will have the support of a wider team and full training is provided. About the role Waking night responsibilities, ensuring the safeguarding and safety of the young people overnight, security of the home and home management duties. Ensure all young people are appropriately supported to promote their personal growth and independent living skills. Work with the young people to develop individual pathway plans to identify their aspirations and goals and to ensure that each young persons specific needs and preferences are properly met. Give practical support and ongoing emotional and psychological support to help them achieve their ambitions. Work alongside other team members to ensure the home is a safe and pleasant place to live in and promote a cooperative shared living atmosphere in the home. Administration of care plans, record keeping and maintaining excellent compliance in line with Company procedures and Ofsted regulatory frameworks and guidance. Housekeeping duties About you Our new Waking Nights Young Persons Support Worker will demonstrate proven experience of working or volunteering with children and young people or vulnerable young adults. The role may be challenging at times and therefore your personal qualities must include resilience, confidence and the ability to make good decisions in respect of the young people. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding is essential. In addition, it is useful to have experience of: Children, young people and their families who have experienced trauma or abusive backgrounds. Working with young people aged 16 plus in a supported housing or residential environment. A qualification to NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People (or willing to work towards) Personal qualities that contribute to successful relationship and rapport building - being able to engage with young people in an empathetic, positive and proactive manner. Basic IT skills to carry out the administrative elements of the role.
