A successful and growing SME business with a turnover in excess of £25m based in the Portsmouth area is looking to hire an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis. This role is based 4 days per week in the office and offers a clear progression path to become Finance Director for the right candidate. Reporting to the Finance Director and with clear visibility to the Senior Leadership Team, the Financial Controller will:
Duties of the Financial Controller Role:
* Oversee, design, and implement Financial Controls to ensure that the organisation is best placed to minimize any unnecessary losses.
* Mentor and develop a small finance team.
* Oversee the production of the monthly/quarterly management accounts to be reviewed by the Finance Director.
* Engage with stakeholders across the organization.
* Work alongside the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team in providing commercial and strategic acumen to drive the business forward.
Requirements of the Financial Controller Role:
* ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant.
* Ambition to become a Finance Director.
* 5-10 years PQE.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Ability to mentor staff.
* Proven commercial acumen within medium-sized companies.
