Job Overview
* Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.
* Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO and key focus on customer service.
* Company funded SIA licence renewal.
* Fully supported by the NOC and provided technology such as body‑worn camera and incident reporting device.
* Delivering results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous security experience.
* SIA License.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Energy and enthusiasm.
Main Duties (Operations)
* Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Engage fully with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management, using all technology provided, including body cameras and mobile devices.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Proactively review Assignment Instructions and suggest amendments that will improve or enhance the level of service.
* Maintain required front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and wear it at all times while carrying out duties.
* Work in a systematic, methodological and orderly way.
Training
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
* Undertake training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
* Renew licence at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation appears threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete a detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident for use in Incident Report process.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
