The Royal Lymington Yacht Club, one of the UK's most prestigious yacht clubs, is seeking an experienced and passionate Bar & Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house, bar, and catering operations in the River Room Bar and Restaurant and Solent Dining Room.
About the Role
This is a very hand on role and we are looking for someone to take real ownership in all aspects of the River Room Bar and Restaurant. You will oversee all aspects of the Club's food and beverage services, including bar operations, restaurant service, team training & development, catering, cleaning, and maintenance. You will manage a team of 10+ staff, reporting directly to the Club's General Manager, and will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and a first-class member experience while ensuring financial performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Club's kitchen, bar, and restaurant operations.
* Drive profitability through effective budgeting, cost control, and sales analysis
Deliver a high-quality food and beverage experience for members, guests, and event attendees.
* Recruit, train, and develop a motivated and professional team.
* Ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently maintained.
* Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation.
* Engage with members to build relationships and enhance the Club's reputation.
* Input into a full year social and event plan to keep the club buzzing.
About You
We're looking for a hands-on, energetic leader with proven hospitality management experience who thrives in a busy, guest-focused environment with bags of ideas to grow our food and beverage offering here at the Club.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* At least 5 years' experience in bar, restaurant, or hospitality management.
* Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and training teams.
* Experience in managing budgets, stock control, and financial performance.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with members of all ages.
* Highly presentable with exceptional standards of service and attention to detail.
Desirable:
* Experience in banqueting or event catering.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and hospitality systems.
* Familiarity with yacht clubs or private member organisations.
