Technical Officer x 3 positions
Tackling fly tipping is a key priority for the Council, and following recent changes, the Environmental Enforcement Team is seeking three additional officers to join the expanding team. We are looking for forward-thinking officers who are able to problem solve, are confident in speaking to people, and can carry out investigations.
Responsibilities include investigating environmental crimes such as fly-tipping and duty of care offences in residential and commercial settings.
The post holder will be responsible for gathering evidence, interviewing individuals, responding to customer concerns, and working with other Council services, partner agencies, and neighboring authorities. They will take appropriate action to achieve desired outcomes, including issuing statutory and fixed penalty notices and undertaking prosecutions.
The successful applicants will have a background knowledge of Environmental Legislation, be able to carry out investigations, communicate effectively with the public, and manage potentially confrontational situations.
