About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Auditor (QAA) to join our Quality Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Quality, the QAA will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and compliance of our services across supported living and residential settings.
This role supports the delivery of a high-quality service by completing audits, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting managers to implement agreed actions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CQC standards, a keen eye for detail, and a collaborative, coaching-led approach to driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete scheduled Quality Assurance audits using standardised tools (MOA Benchmarking and paper-based audits) across services.
* Raise clear, actionable recommendations and work with managers to support implementation and improvement.
* Analyse audit findings and other quality data (e.g., incident patterns, compliance scores) to identify trends and risk areas.
* Support the Head of Quality in developing, reviewing, and refining audit tools.
* Provide quality-focused support to PBS Practitioners, Registered Managers, Business Development, and Training colleagues.
* Collaborate with local teams to help services prepare for and respond to internal and external compliance reviews (e.g., CQC, local authority, ICB).
* Maintain awareness of legislative, regulatory, and best practice changes in adult social care and advise on potential impacts.
* Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures, as needed.
* Maintain high standards of documentation, feedback, and reporting following each audit visit.
* Build constructive and supportive relationships with operational teams to promote a culture of learning, development, and improvement.
* Attend Quality Team and service meetings as required to share findings, updates, and good practice.
* Participate in ongoing learning and supervision to ensure continued personal and professional development.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Experience in auditing or quality assurance within adult social care services.
* Knowledge of CQC regulations and supported living/residential care (non-nursing).
* Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
* Confident using Microsoft Office and QMS systems (experience with MOA Benchmarking desirable).
* Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with a supportive and proactive mindset.
* High levels of attention to detail and analytical thinking.
* Able to travel frequently and independently to various service locations.
* A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
* Experience in working directly within supported living or residential care.
* Experience supporting policy development or improvement initiatives.
* Familiarity with local authority and ICB compliance frameworks.
