Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Animal Care and Land Management (Reduced Year) Salary: £15,557 per annumClosing Date: About the Role

Leeds City College are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a wide-ranging role designed to help our learners’ progress during practical and theory lessons.

This role will be predominantly be based at our Temple Newsam campus, but on occasion their might be the requirement to also work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. This role includes supporting both practical and theory lessons with the department based in a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based real work environment.

The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). This role will be working with Further Education (FE) students.

This is a reduced year, term time only position (38 weeks). You will work from 9am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. The pro rata'd s alary is £15,557 per year.

1. Support teachers in the delivery of practical and theory lessons.
2. Put in place interventions for whole groups or individual learners to help and support them both academically and developmentally.
3. Form meaningful and impactful relationships.
4. Work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.

* Experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally.
* Experience of positively managing learner progress in an education setting.
* Ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
