Job Description:

About us

Arqiva is at the heart of the broadcast and utilities sector in the UK and abroad, we have a rich heritage and an exciting future on the cutting edge of tech.

Through our infrastructure we ensure media and data is taken from, and delivered to where it is most valued, whether that’s from broadcasters to your TV screen or radio, or from your smart meter to the utility company. Even if you haven’t heard of us before, the chances are you’re indirectly a customer of ours and our infrastructure is part of your everyday life!

Our commitment to you

We’re here to help you grow, from mentoring relationships and our digital learning platforms (LinkedIn Learning and getAbstract) through to learning from our internal experts and technical trainers. Your learning journey will be designed around you so that you can realise your potential and bring the very best of yourself to work.

You will be part of a team of highly skilled subject matter experts who are passionate about supporting your development not just in a technical capacity but also your individual tailored personal development needs. Our goal is to ensure you succeed, as well as having a great experience.

And when you work at Arqiva you’ll see opportunities all around you to connect. With colleagues through our internal people networks and events as well as the wider communities in the areas we work.

Why this role?

This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in structural engineering with a company at the forefront of broadcast and telecommunications infrastructure. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and innovation of Arqiva’s nationwide network of masts and towers. From designing and assessing structures, to supporting cutting-edge projects, this role offers hands-on experience, professional development, and the chance to contribute to critical national infrastructure.

What you’ll be responsible for:

* To provide a professional structural engineering service to support the delivery of broadcast and telecommunication infrastructure projects
* Review and audit structural designs from third-party engineers.
* Plan and oversee structural work to maintain safety and performance.
* Keep structural data accurate and up to date in our systems.
* Suggest and implement improvements to engineering processes and tools.
* Contribute to a team of specialists in mast and tower engineering.
* Help identify structural risks and promote a strong safety culture.
* Learn and grow in areas like structural health monitoring and dynamics.
* Support a secure and collaborative working environment.

The difference you will make

We are a business with bold ambitions outlined in our Vision 2031 plan. We’re looking for your curiosity and insight to help achieve them. Graduates play a key role in helping us to continually think differently and deliver on our customer’s expectations

Our graduate scheme provides you with the opportunity to develop your skills and harness your curiosity in a practical environment. We put you at the heart of our business so that what you do impacts our customers and supports the delivery of our strategy. You will be working alongside dedicated and talented people who really care about our customers and each other.

The strengths you will bring to the team

* A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline approved by the Engineering Council Institutions as an approved qualification for MICE or MIStructE.
* Experience in structural analysis and the design of steel structures.
* A working knowledge of the following codes: BSEN 1991: Actions on structures, BSEN 1993: Design of steel structures.
* Experience working on projects, whether through university, internships, or placements, supporting documentation and risk assessments.
* A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a team to achieve shared goals.
* Use of structural analysis tools and a good understanding of structural behaviour.
* Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documents.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint; experience with data tools like Qlik Sense is a bonus.
* A logical thinker who enjoys solving problems and making sound decisions based on technical information.
* Actively working towards Incorporated or Chartered status

More than anything, we want to hire graduates who are passionate about building their career at Arqiva and being a part of our vision. So, if you think you have most of the skills and / or experience we are looking for, then please do apply for the role – we want to hear from you!

What’s in it for you?

* £31.5k with regular salary reviews
* A culture whereby we unleash the potential of all our people through trust, transparency and empowerment. Where we have a shared purpose, shared goals, and a sense of unity and belonging.
* A great benefits package including but not limited to discounted tech products, gym flex membership, a free external counselling service, private health care and great pension contributions
