Job Overview
* Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and/or assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.
* £14.05 per hour payrate alongside numerous Mitie benefits including Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers. Subsidised staff restaurant available.
* Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO and a key focus on customer service.
* Company funded SIA licence renewal.
* Fully supported by the NOC and provided with technology such as body‑worn camera and incident reporting device.
* Deliver results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.

Main Duties
Operations
* Ensure compliance with all policies, relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Engage fully with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management, using all technology provided, including body‑cams and mobile devices, to aid incident reporting.
* Complete all on‑site tasks and duties as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
* Review published Assignment Instructions proactively, suggest amendments that improve the level of service.
* Comply with industry and statutory legislation, wearing a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision at all times and completing additional required courses.
* Work systematically, methodologically and orderly.
Training
* Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
* Undertake continuous self‑development training directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through ongoing professional development.
* Renew licence at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential risks on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative, immediately involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct with challenging customers.
* Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident for the Incident Report process.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
