The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join one of the fastest growing companies in the area, and an exciting time to become a member of our successful team.
You will be responsible for managing a team of people, who work across two production facilities, and are directly responsible for GMP manufacture of our products. With the support of the Production Manager, your role will include overseeing the scheduled production activities, whilst ensuring health and safety standards are maintained, and the best utilisation of the teams and resources available. You will be accountable for ensuring production colleagues receive necessary training and day-to-day support, whilst also driving the continuous improvement activities that are assigned.
Your Responsibilities
* Ensuring people and resources are utilized efficiently to meet planned requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
* Monitoring team members' performance to ensure manufacturing procedures are followed and quality standards are met.
* Maintaining and monitoring all required records, ensuring accuracy.
* Ensuring non-conforming materials are identified and segregated.
* Overseeing escalation procedures for quality concerns and ensuring they are followed.
* Managing production throughput against capacity targets.
* Communicating important information to the team regarding targets and responsibilities.
* Managing work order closures and stock control transactions.
* Maintaining visibility and adherence to procedures and instructions.
* Monitoring changeover and line setup efficiency.
* Preparing lines for start-up for subsequent shifts.
* Monitoring and maintaining safety equipment and tools.
* Planning and executing training and development for your team.
* Performing root cause analysis to resolve problems.
* Identifying business improvement opportunities.
Standard working hours are from 21:45 to 06:15, Monday through Thursday, with a 30-minute unpaid break, totaling 8 hours per day. On Fridays, hours are from 20:05 to 03:45, with a 30-minute unpaid break, totaling 7 hours and 10 minutes. You may be required, up to four times a year, to swap shifts with another Team Leader, involving temporary schedule adjustments for up to two weeks.
Your Profile
* Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates understanding the key responsibilities. Strong judgment, management skills, and willingness to complete leadership training are advantageous.
* Experience in mechanical/machine operative industries and knowledge of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement techniques.
* Formal qualifications in lean/continuous improvement are beneficial but not essential.
* Experience within a GMP regulated facility (BRC, ISO9001, BETA NOPS) is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills and high IT literacy, especially with ERP systems, are required.
