The Video Player Technology (VPT) team is building the future of streaming with a world-class cross-platform SDK used across mobile, web, Smart TVs, and connected devices. Our SDK powers smooth playback experiences, including live, VOD, and low-latency streams, by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as adaptive bitrate streaming, modern video codecs, and server-guided ad insertion. We’re looking for a QA Engineer to join our Android team and help ensure quality and reliability remain at the heart of everything we ship. You’ll be embedded in a high-performing, collaborative squad that takes pride in delivering premium video playback experiences across the broad ecosystem of Android devices. As a key contributor in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering culture, you\'ll help shape both the test strategy and the team’s approach to delivering scalable, automated, and reliable streaming QA.
What You'll Do
* Contribute to test planning, execution, automation, and reporting for the Android Video Player SDK.
* Design and maintain test cases across functional, integration, and regression layers.
* Validate playback scenarios across devices and help identify quality risks early.
* Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure testability.
* Support debugging efforts and defect management workflows.
* Improve automation frameworks aligned with CI pipelines.
* Participate in agile ceremonies and QA best practices.
What You'll Bring
* Proven commercial experience in a QA role, focusing on Android apps or SDKs.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed teams.
* Experience writing test cases and automating tests using Espresso, UIAutomator, or similar.
* Understanding of Android architecture and media playback components and ADB tooling.
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
* Exposure to video playback, DRM, ABR, or OTT applications is desirable.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail across Android devices.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
