As a CFD Operations Engineer, you will take ownership of the end-to-end CFD process—driving automation, improving efficiency, and ensuring robust, scalable workflows across the full simulation lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of aerodynamic innovation, where your expertise will directly influence car performance through the optimisation of our CFD processes and workflows.
If you’re passionate about CFD, driven by performance, and ready to make an impact in Formula One, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and optimising the complete CFD workflow, from geometry preparation through to post-processing.
* Driving automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency, repeatability, and scalability.
* Leading meshing strategy development, improving quality, robustness, and turnaround time.
* Running and analysing baseline simulations (wind tunnel and track configurations) to support aerodynamic development.
* Ensuring strong process governance, including version control, traceability, and reproducibility.
* Collaborating with Aerodynamics, IT, and HPC teams to optimise CFD integration and performance.
* Identifying opportunities to improve throughput, speed, and data quality.
* Supporting regulatory compliance, including FIA audit requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Aerodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of the CFD simulation lifecycle and best practices.
* Proven experience in CFD process development, workflow optimisation, and meshing strategies.
* Programming skills in Python for automation and tool development.
* Experience with CAD tools (ideally CATIA) for geometry preparation and manipulation.
* Expertise in post-processing tools, data analysis, and visualisation.
* Familiarity with HPC environments and job scheduling systems.
* Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
* A proactive, structured approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate across teams.
