We’re looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a fast-growing SME to support an ongoing project.
* Day rate: £525 per day Outside IR35
* Location: Farnborough (3 to 4 days per week on-site)
* Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for SC; DV clearance will be required
You will be working within a cross-functional team to support and enhance a secure cloud platform, focusing on automating operational processes, managing virtualised infrastructure, and ensuring system observability.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or Proxmox.
* Familiar with orchestration tools like Aria Automation Suite or Rundeck.
* Strong system administration background across both Windows and Linux environments.
* Proficient in one or more programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go, or Java).
* Skilled in PowerShell, Bash, and SQL scripting.
* Hands-on with IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, Salt.
* Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab.
* Strong understanding of API development and system integration (e.g., RESTful APIs, Swagger).
* Solid grasp of networking and database administration.
