Arriva Traincare have exciting new opportunities for you to join our Heavy Maintenance team based in our Bristol depot to support with upcoming projects. We are on the lookout for Heavy Maintenance Fitters to join our supportive team.
Reporting to the Team Leader you will safely and efficiently carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures and play an active part in continuously improving product quality.
Receiving a salary of £40,088.16 per annum along with great additional benefits including pension, life and healthcare cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
Permanent contract, working an average of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm.
What will this role in the Rail Vehicle Heavy Maintenance team entail?
1. Tasks will include fitting floors, panelling, seating, tables, windows and doors in the interior of rolling stock.
2. Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager/ Production Engineer within set timescales and to the recognised standards
3. Operate rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures
4. Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction
5. Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work
6. Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to
7. •Carry out any duties within level of competence as requested
What will I need to be considered for this Heavy Maintenance role?
8. Experienced engineer, qualified to NVQ Level 3, ideally with experience of working with rail traction and rolling stock, or commercial / heavy engineering
9. Proven experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle heavy maintenance activities (desirable)
10. Understanding of Depot Operations, along with working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
