This is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity to join NFU Mutual as a PMO Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of NFU Mutual’s change portfolio. You’ll oversee the governance schedule for delivery teams, making certain that stakeholders are engaged, informed, and aligned with delivery plans. Serving as a trusted partner to delivery leadership, you’ll provide proactive consultancy across all PMO disciplines, including planning, estimating, scheduling, budget and resource management, tracking performance against agreed time, cost, quality, and scope. You’ll establish and oversee delivery controls such as risks, issues, dependencies and constraints, highlighting concerns early and supporting the identification of solutions. Working closely with centralised Assurance, you’ll conduct first line Assurance reviews, ensuring delivery teams operate in line with NFU Mutual’s Change Framework and recommendations are implemented. A key part of the role is producing accurate, timely and insightful delivery information for senior stakeholders and governance forums, maintaining a single source of truth to enable effective decision-making. You’ll act as an escalation point for PMO professionals, mentoring and guiding teams to raise change maturity and delivery standards. You’ll also lead, inspire and develop the PMO team, ensuring strong talent management, career development and succession planning to support the long-term success of Group Change.About youYou are a detail-driven PMO Specialist with a strong foundation in assurance and governance, ensuring projects align with organisational standards and deliver measurable value. You excel in risk and issue management, planning, and dependency management to keep complex initiatives on track. With solid experience in finance and resource management, you support informed decision-making and effective delivery. You possess a high level of confidence and skill in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, building trusted relationships and ensuring clear, consistent communication throughout the lifecycle of each project. As a PMO Specialist, you demonstrate a strong aptitude for team leadership, actively fostering collaboration, mentoring colleagues, and cultivating an environment where best practice is shared, and continuous learning is encouraged. Your ability to influence senior leaders and delivery teams alike enables you to navigate complex organisational dynamics and drive consensus around critical delivery milestones. Through the application of critical thinking, you routinely evaluate project assumptions, proactively identify and address risks, and implement robust solutions to overcome obstacles. This approach not only resolves issues efficiently but also promotes ongoing improvement across the entire change portfolio, ensuring that programmes deliver measurable value and align with NFU Mutual’s strategic objectives.
