Planning & Logistics Specialist - Airfreight
Our supply chain team comprises highly motivated professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a seamless flow of parts and services critical to our operations. They handle over $250M of aircraft parts across the European network, with an annual spend exceeding £150M. The team manages the end-to-end process from supplier selection to delivery.
What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Logistics & Transportation Manager, you'll ensure the smooth movement of aircraft parts and materials across our network. Your responsibilities include building relationships with transport partners and suppliers, managing consignments from planning to delivery, optimizing routes, costs, and lead times, monitoring shipments, resolving incidents, and identifying efficiency opportunities. You will prepare consignment paperwork, ensure customs compliance, and act as the Subject Matter Expert for Dangerous Goods, maintaining safety and efficiency in operations. This role offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements, support urgent operational needs, and shape our logistics strategy.
What you'll need to do the role:
We seek an experienced logistics professional with at least five years of airfreight forwarding and operations experience. Knowledge of alternative solutions such as OBC, charter, and FAF is required. You should be confident in recommending airline solutions for US, EU, and Asia import/export flows and have experience establishing new airfreight lanes with appropriate incoterms, customs arrangements, and partner networks. Knowledge of European road freight is desirable, and experience in aviation, airline, or aerospace logistics is advantageous. Holding a current IATA Dangerous Goods certification or having completed the training previously is preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.

This full-time role is based at 800 Capability Green, Luton, working 40 hours per week.
