Mechanical Site Supervisor – Building Services (HVAC, Pipework, Plantroom)
Location: London & Home Counties
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Company Van + Bonus + Benefits
A well-established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to oversee installation projects across London and the Home Counties.
The company delivers mechanical building services installation projects directly for end-user clients, covering commercial offices, education, healthcare environments, heritage buildings and high-end residential developments.
This opportunity would suit a Mechanical Supervisor, HVAC Supervisor or Mechanical Foreman with strong experience in pipework, plantroom installations and HVAC systems who enjoys leading engineers on site and delivering high-quality building services projects.
The Role – Mechanical Site Supervisor
As Mechanical Site Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising and coordinating mechanical installation teams on site. Team sizes typically range from 10–25 engineers, depending on project scale.
Projects are frequently delivered in live or occupied buildings, requiring strong organisation, clear communication and a professional client-facing approach.
You will act as the senior mechanical representative on site, ensuring installations are delivered safely, on programme and in line with industry standards.
Projects You’ll Be Working On
Typical projects include:
Mechanical plantroom installations and HVAC upgrades
Commercial office fit-outs and refurbishments
Typical project values range from £200k – £2m, providing a varied portfolio of technically interesting mechanical building services installations across London.
Mechanical Systems You Will Oversee
Installation and coordination of mechanical building services systems, including:
HVAC and ventilation systems
Mechanical plant installations including boilers, pumps, chillers, AHUs and heat pumps
Heating and chilled water pipework systems
Domestic hot and cold water services
Plantroom mechanical installations
Mechanical distribution systems within commercial buildings
Key Responsibilities
Supervise mechanical installation teams across HVAC, pipework and plantroom works
Plan labour resources, installation sequencing and site logistics
Ensure mechanical building services installations meet project specifications and quality standards
Liaise with clients, main contractors, project managers and consultants
Ensure works comply with health & safety regulations and company procedures
Monitor installation progress and assist with commissioning preparation
Coordinate subcontractors and specialist engineers
Provide progress updates and site reports as required
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising mechanical building services installations
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, pipework installations and plantroom equipment
Experience managing mechanical site teams of 10–25 engineers
Previous experience working for a Mechanical Contractor or M&E Building Services contractor
Professional and confident communicator comfortable in client-facing environments
SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, and Asbestos Awareness desirable
Full UK Driving Licence
