We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Insurance Claims Handler to join our Claims Specialty Team based in Birmingham. This role is highly customer-focused, requiring you to provide an excellent claims service to our clients. Your proven claims handling experience across all classes of commercial claims will enable you to manage claims professionally and efficiently from start to finish, dealing with various classes of business and presenting claims MI.
This role suits a person eager to progress within insurance, either CII qualified or working towards it, who is a natural multi-tasker and experienced in motor, property, and liability insurance claims handling. You will prioritize the customer at the core of your work, utilizing KYC and TCF methodologies, handling claims in compliance with FCA regulations and our business policies and procedures.
As the business grows, there will be numerous opportunities to participate in other exciting projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage claims across different products such as Property, Liability, Marine, and Business Interruption, ensuring service standards are met or exceeded.
2. Maintain an efficient diary system for all claims, ensuring timely follow-up.
3. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Acturis.
4. Provide claims information and reports to the broking department and clients as required.
5. Handle complex claims according to group procedures.
6. Acknowledge all new claims to clients and insurers, keeping clients informed to achieve the best outcomes.
7. Produce claims MI and reports when needed.
8. Meet with clients and present claims information when required.
9. Perform any other duties as requested by management on an ad-hoc basis.
10. Manage personal CPD to keep skills and knowledge current.
Experience:
1. Robust experience handling Property, Liability, Marine, and Business Interruption insurance claims, with strong commercial awareness and understanding of claims procedures.
2. Passion for delivering exceptional customer service, applying TCF and KYC methodologies.
3. Knowledge of Acturis (desirable) and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
4. CII certification or working towards it.
5. Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
6. A positive, proactive attitude with problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
