We are seeking to recruit a Specialist Occupational Health Nurse Adviser to join our excellent team. You will be part of a proactive Occupational Health Nursing team, involved in all aspects of the service, providing comprehensive support to our staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within Occupational Health, proficient IT skills, and a flexible, proactive approach to manage a varied and demanding workload.
Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Health Nurse Adviser, you will provide specialist guidance and support to managers and staff, in accordance with national legislation and local policies, procedures, and protocols. Your responsibilities include the day-to-day delivery of occupational health services, health assessments, immunisation and serology, health surveillance, and management referrals. You will also collaborate with the wider team to facilitate continual improvements.

Qualifications
* Current registration with NMC on part one of the Register
* Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing or relevant equivalent experience
* Portfolio of evidence of continuing professional development and its application
* Registration with NMC on part three of the register
Knowledge
* Specialist theoretical and practical knowledge within the clinical environment
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations
* Understanding of clinical governance, audit, and clinical effectiveness in Occupational Health
* Knowledge of risk management processes
* Understanding of Occupational Health in the NHS and its role in supporting business services
Experience
* Proven delivery of evidence-based clinical practice in Occupational Health
* Experience managing clinical responsibilities in the absence of senior colleagues
* Experience supervising and teaching junior staff
* Experience with case management
* Occupational Health experience within an NHS environment
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with healthcare teams, colleagues, clients, and managers
* Ability to work within a specialist Occupational Health team, accessing current knowledge for evidence-based care
* Competence in management referral triage, including assessment, referral, and discharge
* Strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills within set timeframes
* Effective management of equipment and resources
