The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.
The role involves overseeing all mechanical maintenance tasks, driving site safety standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting operations to meet quality standards such as ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.
You will be responsible for delivering maintenance tasks safely and promptly, working closely with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Accountabilities: Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained during all work activities. Take full responsibility for Mechanical work, including breakdowns, preventive maintenance, compliance tasks, regulatory work, and defect resolution, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation within the CMMS system.
Manage the Mechanical Maintenance team daily, including work allocation, reviewing and issuing work packs with adequate RAMS, collecting progress updates, and managing priority work from defect identification to completion (raising PRs, organizing resources, creating RAMS).
Ensure proper documentation and closure of work orders, manage team timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary actions, and deputize for the Maintenance Manager as needed.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to develop accurate weekly schedules, contribute to root cause analyses, and follow up on actions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Provide first-line troubleshooting for mechanical faults and work delivery issues, and contribute to continuous improvement activities, including the raising and execution of preventive maintenance tasks.
SHEQ
Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance activities. Promote a positive safety culture, ensure safe work practices, and report any incidents or near misses. Share good practices and safety improvements within the team.
Equipment Management
Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders. Supervise Mechanical Technicians, prioritize work according to site needs, support projects and changeovers, liaise with OEM contractors for inspections, and plan future maintenance activities in coordination with the Maintenance Planner.
