Department Overview
The Insurance Supervision Directorate promotes the safety and soundness of over 500 insurers operating in the UK, including general insurers, life insurers, friendly societies, and the London market. We help identify and mitigate potential risks before they can adversely affect policyholders and financial stability.
Job Description
Joining this team, you'll engage in varied, high-profile work with responsibilities ranging from assessing newer, innovative firms to larger insurers. You'll utilize your analytical skills to evaluate risks, interact with firms, and investigate issues when necessary. Your findings will be shared with internal teams and senior leaders across UK and international insurance firms, supporting our supervisory strategy. This role offers opportunities to develop technical and interpersonal skills through challenging and impactful work.
Role Requirements
Minimum Criteria
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information independently, exercise judgment, and draw reasoned conclusions.
* Understanding of the financial services industry, its reporting requirements, and key regulatory challenges/priorities.
Essential Criteria
* Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present findings effectively to varied audiences.
* Excellent organizational skills to proactively manage workload.
* Strong stakeholder management skills to build, maintain, and influence relationships at all levels.
Desirable Criteria
* Participation in diversity and inclusion initiatives within your team or organization.
