The practice is looking for a newly qualified GP (qualified within 2 years of CCT date)The position will be 4 sessions per week, including 1 admin session. We offer6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave pro rata. The successful candidatewill be joining a forward-looking and well-supported clinical team. Ourtraining practice in Bridgnorth has 9 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 2 NursingPractitioners, a Nursing team including Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistantsand Phlebotomists serving 20,000+ patients across two sites. We have an excellent admin and ITsupport team, with superb clinical areas, staff facilities and meeting rooms.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties,including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signsof illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation withpatients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling and health education
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes toagreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribingformulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertakeall the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care.
