Practice Nurse (Locum) - Primary Care Location: Caerphilly Contract: Ongoing Locum (2 Days per Week) Rate: £20 - £24 per hour (DOE) Start: Immediate / ASAP Overview We are currently supporting a GP practice in Caerphilly with the requirement for an experienced Practice Nurse to provide ongoing locum cover. This requirement has arisen due to long-term sickness absence, offering a stable and consistent opportunity within a well-organised primary care environment. The role offers regular weekly sessions with a focus on structured immunisation and diabetes management clinics. Clinical Responsibilities The successful clinician will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care across the following areas: Childhood Immunisations Delivery of scheduled immunisation programmes (where competent) Patient and parent education in line with national guidance Chronic Disease Management Diabetes reviews and structured care planning Ongoing monitoring and patient support Treatment Room Activity Wound care and dressings (as clinically appropriate) General treatment room duties within competency Preventative Care Health promotion and patient education Support with long-term condition optimisation Requirements NMC-registered Practice Nurse Proven experience within primary care settings Competent in childhood immunisations Experience in diabetes and chronic disease clinics Confident working autonomously within a GP practice Experience using EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision Enhanced DBS Working Pattern 2 days per week (flexible scheduling) Ongoing requirement due to sickness cover What's on Offer Stable, ongoing weekly sessions Structured clinical workload Supportive GP practice environment Competitive hourly rate of £20-£24 DOE Application If you are an experienced Practice Nurse seeking a consistent locum opportunity in Caerphilly, we would welcome your application.
