The Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team is seeking a Charge Nurse/Community Mental Health Nurse who is keen to be part of developing an innovative and forward‑looking service. We are looking for someone who has the knowledge and skills to provide nursing leadership and specialist assessment, care and interventions for our patients throughout the Perth City Locality.
Within this role, the post‑holder will directly contribute to safe, efficient and person‑centred care, treatment and interventions which will require you to work across the locality. This will be inclusive of providing mental health liaison support within residential/nursing care.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to the leadership and motivation of a team of registered and non‑registered nursing staff. Participating in as well as providing regular Nurse Line Management Supervision, Clinical Supervision and undertaking line management responsibilities are critical aspects of the role.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you must be computer literate. Liaising with statutory and non‑statutory agencies will be a key part of your role. You will be expected to form excellent working relationships with clinical and non‑clinical staff groups. The ability to operate as a team member is an essential component to this role, while you should have the confidence to lead the team in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. Equally important is the ability to treat people with dignity and respect and to act in a collaborative manner with service users, carers and varying staff groups.
The successful candidate must show continuous professional development and a willingness to increase their knowledge and skills. There will be an expectation that the post holder will actively participate in creatively developing the service.
This post will involve travel across Perth City.
You must be registered on Sub‑part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub‑part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register, and you should have significant experience at Band 5 level or above.
Hours of work are: 36 hours per week.
As part of ongoing and future service development within Perth City Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team, you may be required to provide care within a 7‑day service.
