Overview of the Position
The Sales and Purchase Ledger Assistant will be based at the V.H. Bio Headquarters in Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role involves overseeing all sales and purchase aspects of the company and assisting with general office duties to provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to all customers.
As the Sales & Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the sales and purchase ledger processes. You will ensure that each transaction runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets deadlines by following company procedures, compliance standards, and legal requirements.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Sales Ledger / Sales Order Processing: Processing customer orders through to invoicing.
2. Maintaining and updating the sales ledger database, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
3. Processing Sample Requests.
4. Purchase Ledger / Purchase Order Processing: Re-ordering stock and liaising with suppliers to resolve issues.
5. Handling Customer Queries: Responding to inquiries about invoices, payments, and account balances.
6. Assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes.
All tasks and responsibilities are deemed essential; however, business conditions may require additional tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Educational and Background Experience
* Entry Level AAT Qualification or experience in a similar role.
* Experience with Sage 200.
* Proficiency in MS Excel.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong data entry skills with the ability to identify numerical errors.
* Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
* Ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and external customers to deliver results.
Salary & Benefits
* £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
* Non-Contributory Pension Scheme: 8% of salary paid by the company.
* Private Health Scheme.
* 23 days holiday allowance (pro-rated), plus statutory holidays, increasing to 28 days after 5 years of service.
