The postholder will deliver an efficient, high-quality service that meets scheduled tasks, ad hoc requests, and emergency response times. Responsibilities include the collection of laundry from wards and departments throughout the site.What you'll do:Perform all laundry Portering duties as directed.Complete urgent and scheduled tasks on time, following procedures.Follow hygiene and infection control standards.Comply with Health & Safety regulations.Attend required training and annual appraisals.Keep equipment clean and report faults promptly.Wear issued uniform and PPE; report any damage.Support during emergencies, work flexibly (including Bank Holidays), complete shift records, and carry out reasonable additional duties.What you bring:Basic numeracy and literacy skills; able to follow proceduresKnowledge of workplace Health & SafetyPrevious experience in a service environmentGood standard of written and spoken EnglishClear communication with colleagues, managers, patients, and the publicCustomer care training (desirable)Trustworthy and reliableCalm under pressure; able to meet response timesTidy appearanceCourteous and able to maintain confidentialityRespectful of privacy and dignityFlexible to meet service needsPhysically fit to lift and move patients and equipment in line with manual handling trainingAble to undertake mortuary duties as requiredDesirable:Health service experienceCustomer care trainingWhat we offer:Working at Sodexo isn't just a job — it's a chance to make a difference every day.
