Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate, logical individual to join our dynamic business. In this role, you will serve as an escalation point for the Service Desk on infrastructure-related incidents and handle the daily administration of all infrastructure systems.
What you'll be doing
* Performing daily server administration tasks
* Responding to critical incidents and service requests
* Executing technical projects involving server and storage hardware, Active Directory, VMWare vSphere, Windows Server, Veeam, Microsoft Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with business users and IT teams
* Conducting routine maintenance such as applying patches and configuration changes
* Managing Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMWare vSphere administration tasks
* Handling cloud-based admin and troubleshooting tasks in GCP, Microsoft 365, and Azure
* Taking technical responsibility for small projects assigned by the line manager
* Supporting larger projects involving IT infrastructure changes
* Updating technical documentation to facilitate incident resolution by the IT Service Desk
What We're looking for
* Self-motivated with a solid understanding of complex technical environments and technologies
* Strong problem-solving skills to resolve incidents efficiently
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive approach to system improvements to enhance performance and reduce incidents
* Ability to share ideas and identify areas for improvement
Skills
* Deep knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy
* Experience managing a Windows Server estate (2012 R2+)
* Support experience with Microsoft 365
* Experience administering VMWare vSphere (7.0+)
* Understanding of networking concepts like DNS and DHCP
* Experience supporting server and storage hardware, preferably HPE
* Strong analytical skills for reactive problem resolution
* Experience working within an ITIL environment, understanding end-to-end processes
