Data Engineer (AWS Glue) Birmingham / Remote UK to £60k
Are you a technologist Data Engineer with a good knowledge of AWS seeking an opportunity to take ownership and make an impact in a role that you can shape?
You could be progressing your career in a senior hands-on Data Engineer role. The company works with stakeholders across the energy sector (consumers, industry, academia and government) to identify innovation priorities, gaps in the market and overcome barriers to accelerating the decarbonisation of the energy system at the lowest cost.
As a Data Engineer you'll take ownership of building a new data platform and growing the company's ability to leverage and commercialise the vast quantity of data available from various sources including smart meters, smart heating controls, solar power, electric vehicle charging and more.
You'll collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and data solutions, and design, architect and build end-to-end data pipelines, working with a modern tech stack including Python and AWS Glue and collaborating with the software engineering team.
WFH Policy:
There's a remote interview and onboarding process and you'll be able to work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the office one day every three weeks (Central Birmingham, 10 minute walk from 3 mainline stations); you could also be fully remote in the UK or come into the office more often depending on your preference.
About you:
1. You are a technologist Data Engineer, keen to take ownership and build systems from scratch
2. You have strong AWS Glue experience
3. You have experience of designing and building end-to-end data pipelines
4. You're collaborative with great communication skills
